Mood Changers Poppy Parker Gift Set

Mood Changers was the first Poppy Parker W Club exclusive doll for 2015.  I just got the set yesterday, and I was blown away by it!  It's a gift set of one doll with two extra heads, and three '60s-style outfits.  I'm so glad I was able to get it.  I actually totally missed out on all of the main-line Poppy Parkers this year, because the dealer I usually buy them from went out of business, and the few that I wanted this year all sold out before I could get them.  Just as well, I suppose.  It meant more money I could allot to other dolls and assorted awesomeness.

Anyway, I had to get two extra bodies so I could have all the heads together, because there was no way those extra two gorgeous heads were going to stay in a box.  I think my favorite is the raven.

Although the dolls themselves are fantastic, the clothes are ... not to my taste.  I usually love Integrity Toys' doll clothes, but these styles just don't suit me.  They're very '60s, at least, just not the types of '60s styles I would have worn or liked if I'd been a young woman back then.  I have to say, I think that pink dress is downright ugly.  If I saw it in human size on a supermodel, I'd still say it was ugly.  Sorry!  I can't be positive all the time.  In its defense, though, the designer was going for a very specific 1960s look, and succeeded quite wonderfully.  My thoughts on the dress are more a statement about my distaste for that type of mod minidress, not the talent of the doll's designer.  I think he's enormously talented.

But besides that, this is a set of really awesome girls!  They each have their own personality, which I love.  Integrity Toys is absolutely one of the industry leaders in facial expression. What's amazing to me is that all three have the same face sculpt, yet have such differing and lively personalities.

The set came with two sets of earrings, two pairs of shoes, three bracelets, two pairs of pantyhose and a silver clutch purse that pretty much went with everything.

I love that one has lavender hair.  It was very fun and unexpected.

I hope you enjoy my pictures.  Please click on the pictures to make them bigger.

Joyous Celebration Poppy Parker

My gorgeous Poppy Parker.

I haven't covered 12" dolls for a while, so I thought I should rectify that by showing you two of my newer Poppy Parkers.  I got them both this past year, but haven't put them on the blog yet. This beauty is Joyous Celebration Poppy Parker, who was a W Club offering celebrating the 5th anniversary of the Poppy Parker doll.  I think she's just lovely.  She'll definitely be staying.

She has the same eye screening as the Bergdorf Poppy, I Love How You Love Me, Ask Any Girl and Baby It's You (as well as a slew of other Poppys).

Her earrings are absolutely wonderful.  Her dress is done in a high-quality fabric, with a tiny zipper down the back.  Her shoes are pink to match the fluffy underskirt.  She has one of my favorite hair colors: That shade of brunette that's so dark brown it's almost black, but not quite.

And since it's Poppy week, I'll show you another I got last summer.  She's the silver-haired "Sebina Havoc: Mistress of Disguise" Poppy Parker.  This doll came with two heads and I had no interest in her other head, so I ended up selling it before I even got a picture.  This head is so pretty, but I've been planning to do a partial reroot on her to fill out her hair in the back.  Her hair came in a ponytail, and when I took it down, I discovered a pretty big bald spot in the back of her head.  Turns out she's a match for the "silver bullet" saran doll hair sold on dollyhair.com, so I ordered some of that for her.  I still haven't bothered to do the partial reroot yet, though.  (Sorry, but I don't know what the color saran is called on the Restore Doll site, since I don't use them.)

Here she is, looking sad that she still has a bald spot in back. She does look good in blue, though, doesn't she?

New Poppy Parkers!

So guess what came yesterday????

Two more spy girls!  These are "Spy-a-Go-Go" and "Agent Lotta Danger" Poppy Parkers (posing with "The Girl From I.N.T.E.G.R.I.T.Y." from my last post).  They're from this year's spy show-themed Poppy Parker line.  The three of them together make me think of that old TV show "Charlie's Angels."

It's been about a hundred years since I got new Poppy Parkers.  I was starting to forget how much I love these girls.  I managed to miss all the convention dolls from last year's Integrity Toys convention (and refused to pay double for them on the secondary market).  So as a result, it seems like forever since I was last able to break open a brand new Poppy box. I think these spy girls have renewed my love for this doll line.

Being spies, of course, they all come with guns.  Well, all of them except for the W Club upgrade doll, "The Girl From I.N.T.E.G.R.I.T.Y."

Agent Lotta Danger (left) not only comes with a gun, she comes with an entire gun holster slung at her hip.  She also comes with four pairs of hands.  Two are black hands (to represent thin black gloves) and two pairs are normal-toned, non-gloved sets.

"Spy-a-Go-Go's" outfit is gold.  Really, really gold.  She comes with a lot of extra accessories, which is really nice.  She has two bracelets (gold), a gold gun, sunglasses (gold), gold boots, a gold beret, a purse (gold), and earrings and a ring that are gold with turquoise stones in them to match the rather sparkly dress she has on underneath.

I'm not a fan of the gold-and-turquoise mod party dress, but I LOVE the gold coat.  The coat coupled with those boots equals a win.  Integrity did a very cool thing with the gold coat ... they enlarged the pattern to fit the 16" Tulabelle dolls, and gave one of their 2014 Tulabelles the exact same coat made in the same material.  Their back story for such a deed was that Tulabelle had inherited the gold coat from her grandmother, Poppy!

I thought that was pretty stinkin' clever.  The doll who inherited the coat is called "Front Row" Tulabelle.

Here's the dress.  Meh.  It's very '60s, and the colors are pretty.  That's about all I can say about it.  I noticed it has a belt with it, which was NOT shown in the original promo pictures.

Her hair doesn't *quite* look like the promo pics, either.  The original photographs show her hair as being a little fluffier on the sides.  Mine almost looks like it's in a ponytail in the back, but it's just rolled up and hair-sprayed to death.

Dang it.  I forgot to put on her bracelets before I took this picture.

Boots!  I'm sure you can tell which is which based on the color of their legs.

Can you tell who the gold boots belong to?

LOL.

And now for some random pictures, because these girls are fun to photograph.

 Close-ups!

The black hands are supposed to be gloves, but they still have fingernails!  Ack!  The fingernails aren't quite as apparent in person, but boy, they sure show up in this photo.  I promise you they're harder to see in person.  But as I mentioned, she does come with regular hands, so you can switch out the black hands for regular, normal hands if you want to.

The Girl From I.N.T.E.G.R.I.T.Y

It's been a long time since I showed Poppy Parkers on this blog!  It's been a long time since I've gotten a new one.  This is the W Club upgrade doll "The Girl From I.N.T.E.G.R.I.T.Y," by Integrity Toys.  She's kind of fabulous.  I'm so happy with her!  Her eyes are gray, and her hair reminds me so much of the beautiful actress Isabella Rossellini in the movie "Death Becomes Her."  I LOVE the hair.  It's different from all the other Poppy Parkers, and gorgeous.

I won't do a full review, but instead just show you my pictures.  Fabulousness squared.  Click on them to make them bigger.

I love her bag!

And you can't go wrong with a mini skirt and boots.

I thought I wasn't going to like this vest, but it kind of works.

Joyful in Japan Poppy Parker

Ironically called "Joyful in Japan" Poppy Parker, because she seems to be the most sullen of the bunch.  LOL.  She's definitely not happy about something.

Since you'd expect a doll representing Japan to look Japanese, I think of this one as being a model on a catwalk.  She's modeling a kimono for a big-time Japanese designer, obviously. Poppy Parker is a model, after all.

The kimono is very nice.  The fabric is soft (as always for this company's dolls).  I'm not sure I understand the white strappy thingie at her neckline. Apparently it's there just as a fashion statement.

Her face is colorful, which suits the outfit beautifully.  The pink eyeshadow might limit her redressing a little bit, but not by that much.

I'm not totally crazy about the half-moons of lighter pink on the eyelids, on top of the darker pink.  It may be model-y, but no one wears eyeshadow like that in real life!  Her eyes are purple, which is pretty lovely combined with the platinum hair.

I like her hairstyle.  :)

She comes with white tights underneath the kimono, instead of pantyhose.

Her shoes are worth mentioning because they have redressing possibilities.  Since they aren't the traditional sandals you'd expect to see with a kimono, you can use them with another outfit.  Nice.

Overall, Japan isn't my favorite of the International Fair Poppys, but I quite like her.  I think my favorite may be a tie among India, Switzerland and Polynesia.

Later, alligator.

Irresistible in India Poppy Parker

"Irresistible in India" was the only one of the five International Fair Poppy Parkers I found mildly disappointing.  And it wasn't the doll herself.  Her face is amazing.  Her hairstyle is elegant and gorgeous.  Her jewelry is beautiful. ...

Well, the jewelry that didn't come broken was beautiful, anyway.  Her earrings came broken in the box.

Her hairstyle is very goddess-like and wonderful.  Mine had some slightly messy hairs, though, and one of the tendrils of hair hanging on the side of her face was derpy.  (See first pic.)

I think when the dolls were passing inspection at the factory, mine must have come in dead last before the ones that were thrown in the garbage.  She had a stain on her left cheek!  I didn't even notice it until I'd deboxed her, but here it is.  In the light, it even had a fingerprint in it, as if someone had touched her face with a (very) dirty finger.  I panicked, but then thought I'd try some plain soap and water on a washcloth to see if I could get it off.  It came off.  Whew!  I don't know if you'll be able to see it in the photo.  If you do, you'll probably just think it's a smudge on your computer monitor.  LOL.

I do love her bangles.  She also comes with a gold clutch purse, and gold shoes that match the purse.

The back of her dress doesn't hang right, and she looks pretty bad from the back.  This is how it looks from the back, and I can't get it to flatten out and hang straight at all.

But from the front, she's still pretty beautiful.  (Now that her face is washed.)

Sorry this whole post was nothing but whining.  I was about two seconds away from sending her back to Integrity, but I think I may just send the earrings back and just deal with the rest.  If her face had been permanently stained, it would have been a different story and she would have been on her way back to the company right now.  Luckily, she has a perfect face.  She really is a beauty.

Spicy in Spain Poppy Parker

Gray eyes.  I love that.
Of the five International Fair Poppy Parkers, I have to admit I was the least excited about "Spicy in Spain" because in her promo pictures I thought she looked a little vacant-eyed.  Well, I can happily say, she does NOT look spacey in person.  Not in the least.  Actually, she's pretty gorgeous.

The sausage curl from hell. LOL.
I can't decide whether her hair is a light brown or a dark blonde.  In my part of the world, we'd probably just call it "dirty blonde."

"Yes, I'm fabulous."

Her dress is all one piece.  It is NOT a separate blouse and skirt.  It zips in the back.  Gosh, I LOVE the hat.  It's just a beautiful miniature hat.

She comes with an embroidered purse, gold hoop earrings and a nice ring.  I'm already expecting to lose the ring.  Any second now.  Three ... two ... one. ...

I have to say, though, I wish Integrity Toys wasn't so enamored of "clutch purses" without handles.  You can't hang the purses from the dolls' arms!

Later,
