Disney Animator Collection Mini Doll Play Sets

These Disney Animator mini dolls are only 5 inches (13cm) tall.  I've never shown them on DollyPanic before, so I figured today would be a good day to start!  Each set comes with a doll and a whole lot of glitter-covered extras that reflect the Disney movies they represent.  There are so many pieces to each set that I didn't even bother getting every piece in my photos.  For example, the Snow White set up above also comes with a pie, a bowl, a stool that matches the table, and a brush.  Snow's animals are SO CUTE, but a wee bit out of scale with her.  All the animals sparkle with glitter.  I swear that rabbit looks like he's covered in sugar.

I believe the only place you can get these dolls right now is The Disney Store.

The clothes and shoes are all removable.  The only parts of the outfits that aren't removable are Anna and Elsa's tights, which are painted onto their legs.  The 16-inch/41cm editions of the Disney Animator dolls have fabric tights, but some of these minis make do with painted.

Speaking of their legs, although they sit with their legs spread, they do have bending knees, which is nice.

The two trolls and Sven the reindeer from Frozen all came with Anna.  I think they're so cute.  The snowman Olaf came with Elsa.  Olaf can't stand on his own due to an absolutely horrible design decision in which he's posed with one foot up like he's dancing.

But at least he's cute.

This is Princess Jasmine with her tiger, Rajah.  Since the Disney Animators are supposed to be the characters as children, Rajah is a cub as well.  He's an adult tiger in the movie Aladdin.

Belle's set comes with some nice extras.  There is a basket of bread, a gorgeous open book, a pig, a sheep, and of course Mrs. Potts and Chip.

I think the book says "Le prince charmant" on the left, but I'm not sure.  It's almost impossible to make out.  The book is made of plastic like everything else, and doesn't close.  The cover is just a very plain, unadorned solid blue.

And here are some of the animals that come with the sets.  All glitter.  I think Rajah the tiger is the cutest, although Snow White's bird is pretty stinkin' charming as well.

I'd better show Rapunzel before I forget.  She comes with a guitar, which I love.  The white horse behind Rapunzel is supposed to look like a large stuffed animal, but of course it reflects the white horse named Maximus she meets during the events of the movie.

Her chameleon is done so nicely that he deserves his own picture.

I'll finish with a few more random photos.  See ya later!

Royal Miette

This is Royal Miette, from Wilde Imagination's fairy tale-themed Miette line. I think she looks like a queen from an animated Disney movie, like maybe she lives in the same world as Rapunzel, Elsa and Anna.

I had to post these pictures so I could show you her costume. Not only is the fabric sublime, with raised feather detailing, there are so many ornate and interesting things about the outfit, and nothing looks shoddy or cheap.

The red velvet cloak actually came separate, but of course I had to get it to complete the costume. Whoever designed this lady just did an amazing job. I know she was sculpted by Robert Tonner, but I don't know if he designed the gown as well, or if it was someone else.

She comes with scarlet red pumps, nice if you wanted to redress the doll in a modern style. I was really happy to see this type of shoe, instead of some old-fashioned style I'd never use.

The crown has a clear elastic band to keep it on. I looped it under the chin and behind the ears. I've seen some mixed reactions to this crown on the forums. I think it looks pretty neat, but I'm also tempted to leave it in the box and replace it with a tiara. A tiara would show her elaborate hairstyle a bit better, anyway.

Before I got her, I was toying with the idea of taking her hair down. Her hair is so elaborately done, though, that I'll be leaving it as is. It's not just a simple bun. I don't think I could even explain in words what the hair is like, so I'll have to show you from a few different angles. It's so cool. I can imagine that this queen had a team of hairdressers that spent a couple of hours doing all these twists and knots.

The earrings are simple, but nice. I managed to bend the post on one trying to get it in the ear. Ack! The posts are a little flimsier than they should be. I have some 16" doll-sized jewelry that came with a Franklin Mint Marilyn Monroe doll that I'd LOVE to try on Miette. I think it'd look amazing on her.

I took some pictures of Royal Miette without the neck ruff, cloak and crown. I like her even better this way. A more relaxed queen.
I'll finish by posting more photos of this wonderful costume.  Enjoy the pictures!

As always, click on the photos to make them bigger.

Update on the Ikuzi Dolls

Back in September I told you about the Ikuzi Dolls, a new line that was being debuted as a Kickstarter campaign.  Well, I happened to be doing a search for "doll" on Etsy and accidentally found a listing for them.  I just wanted to update you, because the last time I'd written about these dolls, they weren't for sale yet.  Originally there were three dolls in three different skin colors.  One of the skin colors is sold out, but the other two are available.

Here's the Etsy listing
And here's the official web site

Empire dolls from Tonner-One World

The first sketches of the upcoming dolls based on the TV show Empire were just released.  The dolls will be produced by the newly-formed Tonner-One World as a joint effort from designers Stacey McBride-Irby and Robert Tonner.  The fashions should be stunning!

You can find a little more info about them from these links, although there aren't any pictures of the actual dolls yet:
